First round

Hello! Finally, my first blog.
Tim Duncan and the Spurs are back in the Finals and I'm hoping a match between them and the Cleveland Cavaliers. I'm hoping that Lebron James will lead his team to victory over the Detroit Pistons.

For the Spurs, it was about grinding it out. The Spurs wanted another shot and after it took out The Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns and recently the Utah Jazz. They look unbeatable. Duncan is a solid inside presence, dedicated to make life miserable for opponents on defense and offense. Manu Ginobili can make opponents think twice about doubling Duncan or leaving an open lane for him. Tony Parker just runs circles and scores. Bruce Bowen is the man who does all the dirty defense on the opponent's fastest or trickiest players. Robert Horry and Micheal Finley can hit big time shots with Finley having the ability to create one of his own and Horry being able to provide extra defense and rebounding underneath and can be a headache on the hustle board. The newest member, Fabrico Oberto, simply works around the basket and has earned a starting spot by being the unsung hero for the games against the Jazz. His energy brings the Spurs closer to victory each night.

It's a matter of waiting for now. Pistons will bring their experience and defense to the Finals: while the Cavs bring the best player in the playoffs. It will be a matter of who wants it more for this series. If the Cavs continue to pressure Chauncy Billups and Richard Hamilton with Daniel Gibson and Larry Hughes, if he comes back, it will be the best turn around since Miami Heat last year. There's more to detail but it'll be more when the time comes.

Speaking of underdogs, it's sometimes the second time that's the charm. Example, the Jazz and the Spurs weren't the Favorites. It was actually the Suns and the Dallas Mavericks but the Mavericks were eliminated by the underdog Golden State Warriors and bad judgment caused the Suns their series against the Spurs. The Spurs are the oldest team in the NBA but they have a new chance to show that they can be a dynasty. A second shot at glory. THe Jazz had a bad ending to the regular season and was underdogs from the beginning. Their home court gave them a second chance. With new found confidence, they ousted the Houston Rockets in Game 7 at Houston and later, beat their underdog counter parts the Warriors by winning an all important Game 4 at Oakland.

Sometimes, a second chance is not given but earned and taken. Maybe for us, our second chance is there but we just need to grab it before it disappears. We just need to open our hearts and eyes and ears. Stick around because, this is also a second chance for me. God bless to all
