Garnett traded

Kevin Garnett, the best offensive and defensive player in the West in my opinion, was traded to the East Boston Celtics for 5 players and two draft picks. Well, there goes my dream of seeing Corey Brewer, Randy Foye, Craig Smith, and Rashard McCants (even though he's been injured) run with Garnett in Minnesota.

I felt it was something that never should have happened but happened. Garnett was the core of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He lead them in Rebounds, blocks, points, and was the disciplined leader of the suffering squad. He should have made it, it just didn't gel as well as expected, Mike James was a bust, Troy Hudson got injured, Ricky Davis's and Mark Blount's Contracts were too big to move around (especially Garnett). The Wolves will now have to rely on the leadership of Davis, Juwan Howard and even veteran Trenton Hassle to help raise the future of Randy Foye, Corey Brewer, Rashard McCants, (from the Celtics) Gerald Green, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes and maybe even get Sebastian Telfair a new start (3rd team in 4th season). Jefferson and Gomes will probably round up the package, Jefferson is a low-post warrior and Gomes is a good Wingman. Green is a rising star and Telfair is still growing but will probably back-up Foye.

As for the Celtics, the key now is to build more around Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen. Rando Rojo might be the best choice but signing recently released Timberwolf Troy Hudson may help out. Garnett wanted Hudson a lot to come back to Minnesota and convinced the management to sign him. Kendrick Perkins will have to work on defense and rebounding and being an extra low-post threat. Leon Powe and Glen Davis( when he signs) will probably compete for a starting spot. Gabe Pruit will also fight for one.Brandon Wallace will probably also get a good chance in backing up Pierce or Allen or even Garnett. As far as things go now, Tony Allen( who was nearly lost all season) will probably become the sixth man to back up R. Allen or Pierce as well.

It's a new start but we'll see where it goes.
